Golf interests me. There's always something hot about men who play golf -- more than just the eyes under their aviator shades, the yummies hidden under an Argyle Sweater or perhaps a Polo Shirt, and the pair of sneakers to go with the latter. While most women dislike it when their partners are addicted to the game, I would like to believe that I actually want a golfer boyfriend. For one, I really think golfers realize how it is to live a life. In actual setting, golf is like life in 3 ways. So, I believe that if we understand the similarities between them, it would be a lot easier for us to participate and succeed in both. After all, relationships shouldn't be a single life for two people-- it's separate lives lived altogether.
GOLF AND LIFE
#1. Both are better said than done.
Even though we know what to do and how to do it, it is still very easy to screw it up. In fact, the directions are very simple. You simply hit the ball, which is sitting quite still on the ground, and you advance it closer to the hole until such time that you get it very close, and then you simply scoot it in. No one is preventing you from taking your turn or from doing your best. There will also be thousands of sources of information to tell you how to do it most effectively and efficiently. You make yourself believe that you are actually doing it right, when in fact you aren't. You tell others what went wrong and why you had a difficulty in scoring, but you can't really correct it. Because.. it's always easier said than done.
#2. History repeats itself.
We make the same mistakes over and over in spite of the countless practice-- all because we actually practice doing all the wrong stuff. It's just like in life. It is sometimes difficult to separate what it feels like from what is actually happening. Nevertheless, even on a more sane and normal level, haven't you ever met a person who has always been with a wrong partner? Someone with a long history of loser boy/girlfriends? Although it always ends in the same crisis, they still go back to do it again, over and over-- (may or may not be) with the same people.
#3. It takes one to know one.
It's easier to see the mistakes that other people make than it is to see the ones you do. True story. People are great paparazzi! People will always be there, ready with their fist-sized mouths and owl-like eyes as they see in you what they don't see in front of their mirrors. The heck. Shoulda-woulda-coulda. They don't realize that, both in golf and life, we will only see improvements if and only if we learn from our mistakes.
So, golfers.. You know what to do. Kidding! :)
