DO YOU BELIEVE IN SIGNS?

Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

-Isaiah 7:11

Do you believe in signs? In times when you don't know how to go about caught-in-the-mid-situations and you can only pray for divine interventions, God answers your prayers and divulges information for things you can't decide on. Coincidence.. or are they signs?

True to almost everybody, God gives signs. Most of the time, these signs remain unseen and incomprehensible 'til it all gets to a turning point. Most of the time, one understands all these when s/he reaches the point of no return, the make or break story, or the end-mark. In fact, most inspiring stories come with a God-given-sign to back them up, even in the simplest form during the unexpected events, like in ordinary days.

There are times when you believe and do not see. But yes, it is at times good to want signs to help build your faith. However, the Bible says we should not seek signs, but seek God and His Kingdom first, then the signs will be added. We are to seek God, not signs.

Take this.

36Then Gideon said to God, "You said that you would rescue Israel through me. 37I'll place some wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the wool while all the ground is dry, then I'll know that you will rescue Israel through me, as you said." 38And that is what happened. The next morning Gideon got up early. He squeezed out a bowl full of water from the wool. 39Then Gideon said to God, "Don't be angry with me. But let me ask one more thing. Let me make one more test with the wool. Let the wool be dry while all the ground is covered with dew." 40During the night, God did what Gideon asked. The wool was dry, but all the ground was covered with dew. -Judges 6:36-40

Now, I pray not for signs, but for Him to speak to my heart and through the events in my life. May God's will be done. All these, I pray with great love and patience.
